Mechanical Reasoning

203 questions across the six topics Amazon names in its What to Expect guide, split into the comparative style the real test is built from and a harder computational set. Every run draws fresh, answer order moves, and anything you miss comes back until you clear it.

1 · How you want to run it

Answer, then see the explanation and the rule behind it. No clock. Use this first, and use it more than once.

Drawing from all 203 questions. Expected only gives the comparative, judgment-style questions the real test is built from. Harder only is the computational set, which is above what you should see.

No calculator on the real test. Don't use one here either. Every number in this set was chosen to work out in your head.

2 · What you want to practice

All six topics mixed, the way the real one comes at you.

3 · The real thing, start to finish

60 mechanical questions + 40 workstyle statements · one 45:00 clock · no pause, no back, no quit

  • Answering advances you instantly. There is no confirm step and no way back.
  • No explanations, no score, no feedback until the whole sitting is over.
  • The clock does not stop. Run out during mechanical and you never reach workstyle.
  • Closing this tab mid-run ends it, the same way the real one cannot be restarted.

Built to the published Wiesen shape: 60 mechanical questions in about 30 minutes, then workstyle in the time that remains. The mix is 45 comparative and 15 computational, so most of it is the style you should actually see with enough hard ones to keep you honest.

4 · Every formula in one place

The whole test reduces to these. If you can reproduce this list from memory you can work any question in the bank. The video links open a YouTube search on that exact topic, not one specific video, so pick whichever explanation suits you.

5 · The rules, before you drill

One card per topic: the formula, how to work it, a solved example, and the mistake that costs people points. Read the card, then drill the topic.

6 · Where you stand

The workstyle section is the other half of the real assessment and isn't practiced here on purpose. Amazon's guidance is to answer it honestly, and there is nothing to rehearse.

Levers Question 1 of 36

Why

One shot. Same as the real one.

45 minutes on a single clock. 60 mechanical questions, then 40 workstyle statements. Once you press start there is no pausing, no going back, and no ending early. Sit somewhere quiet and do not start unless you have the full 45 minutes.

Section 2 · Workstyle

Rate how well this describes you

There is no right answer here and this section is not scored. Amazon's own guidance is that faking a profile lands you in a role that does not fit. Answer as you actually are.
